Since the spring of 2003, Pack Creek Campground has been 100% wind-powered...perhaps the first campground and RV park on the planet to draw all of its energy needs from this renewable resource. Through Utah Power's Blue Sky Program, Pack Creek Campground is able to purchase blocks of power from wind farms in Oregon and Wyoming. Buying as little as 300kw of wind power per month for a year offsets the environmental impact of driving 5,400 miles and has the equivalent benefit of planting an acre of trees. |
